Best Marketplaces to Sell Secondhand in 2026 — Ranked by Sell-Through Rate

"Where should I list this?" is the wrong question in 2026. The right question is: where should I list this first, and where does it belong in my crossposting rotation? Here are the 10 largest US secondhand marketplaces ranked by real-world sell-through rate for the categories they win.

1. eBay — the universal default

Still the highest sell-through for electronics, collectibles, and any category with a specific model number. Buyers arrive with intent and specs. Fees run 10-13% all-in. Best for: everything except softline fashion.

2. Poshmark — softline fashion winner

Best sell-through for name-brand clothing, shoes, accessories, and handbags. The share-based algorithm rewards active sellers. Fees are 20% ($15+) or flat $2.95 (under $15) — high, but sell-through offsets. Best for: women's fashion, brand-name apparel.

3. Mercari — quick everyday sales

Fastest listing UX in the ecosystem. Best for: home goods, small electronics, kids items, anything under $50. Sell-through is high on items priced under $30. Fees ~10%.

4. Facebook Marketplace — local, no fees

Zero listing fees, zero seller fees. Best for: furniture, appliances, anything too big to ship. Local pickup only in most cases. Sell-through is instant for well-priced items in dense metros.

5. Depop — Gen Z streetwear + vintage

Best for: streetwear, Y2K, vintage, sneakers, thrifted-look pieces. Skew is 18-25 buyers. Fees 10%. Sell-through highest on items with "vintage" or "y2k" in the title.

6. Grailed — mens designer + streetwear

Only marketplace that outranks eBay for high-end mens streetwear and designer. Fees 9%. Best for: Supreme, Bape, Rick Owens, Yeezy, high-end mens.

7. Vinted — European clothing, no seller fees

Buyer pays a small service fee; seller keeps 100%. Best for: everyday women's clothing, kids clothing, at prices under $50.

8. Whatnot — live-auction niches

Live-streaming auctions. Best for: sports cards, Pokemon, comics, Funko, sneakers with a live-auction dynamic. Not for casual listings.

9. OfferUp — local competitor to FB Marketplace

Local pickup. Best for: cars, furniture, larger appliances in metros where Facebook is oversaturated.

10. Craigslist — the surprise-winner niche

Still the top marketplace for: musical instruments, tools, and RV/camping equipment. Zero fees. Local only. Sell-through is slower but the audience is serious.

The 2026 rule of thumb

For any single item, list it on eBay + one category-native platform + one local platform. That is the 3-marketplace minimum for maximum sell-through without stretching your inventory management thin. Instalist automates the 3-marketplace push from one photo — pick the two secondary marketplaces once, and every new listing goes to all three.

What kills sell-through everywhere

Marketplace choice matters. Listing quality matters more.
